Dimensions: 8 x 7.2 x 3.5 cm
Carnelian is an orange-to-red variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline form of quartz (SiO₂). Its warm color comes from finely dispersed iron oxide within the silica structure, which produces shades ranging from soft peach to deep brick red. Formed in the cavities and fractures of volcanic and sedimentary rocks, carnelian develops through repeated silica-rich fluid deposition, creating its dense, even coloration and smooth, waxy luster.
