The specimen has a sugary crystalline texture with subtle greenish-yellow coloration throughout and a thin white calcite vein crossing the matrix.\u003cspan class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchor\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWilkeite was originally described from the Crestmore quarries in 1914, making Crestmore its type locality.
