Galena, sometimes known as lead glance, represents the natural mineral state of lead sulfide. It holds paramount significance as the primary lead ore and serves as a notable source of silver.

As one of the most plentiful and broadly dispersed sulfide minerals, galena adopts a crystalline structure within the cubic crystal system, frequently displaying octahedral forms. It is often found with other minerals such as fluorite, sphalerite, and calcite.
