Weardale Fluorite is famous for its bright emerald green, vivid purple, lilac and sometimes yellow crystals; their sharp cubic geometric form; wonderful interpenetrate crystal twins and, due to the presence of rare earth elements.

UK Mining Ventures is currently mining Fluorite specimens and associated minerals from the Rogerley and Diana Maria mines between Frosterley and Stanhope.
