An elongated, pale champagne-yellow cerussite crystal with a delicate translucent appearance and a soft, vitreous to adamantine luster. Distinct longitudinal striations extend along its length, while overlapping crystal sections create an elegant, tapered form. Subtle internal veils, fine surface textures, and scattered earthy inclusions add depth to the crystal's warm, luminous coloration.
Cerussite, PbCO₃, is a lead carbonate mineral that forms through the oxidation of primary lead-bearing minerals, particularly galena. Known for its exceptionally high refractive index, brilliant luster, and distinctive crystal habits, cerussite frequently develops complex twinned crystals and elongated, prismatic forms. The historic Mammoth–St. Anthony Mine in Arizona's Tiger mining district is celebrated for its remarkable suite of secondary lead minerals. The locality is especially renowned among collectors for its exceptional wulfenite specimens, alongside cerussite and other minerals formed within the deposit's oxidized zones.
