The Aegirine occurs as thick, elongated bladed crystals with strongly striated faces, accompanied by smaller dark green to black acicular crystals and minor mica across the Albite matrix.
Aegirine is a sodium iron silicate mineral belonging to the pyroxene group, characteristically forming dark green to black elongated prismatic crystals. Mount Malosa is renowned for its alkaline pegmatites and unusual mineral assemblages, producing particularly impressive examples of Aegirine associated with Albite and other minerals.
