Amethyst Flower (Quartz) Locality: Iraí, Alto Uruguai Region, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil Dimensions: 7.5 × 7.0 × 2.8 cm
A beautiful natural Amethyst Flower displaying delicate pastel lavender and blush-pink coloration in an elegant, fan-shaped formation. Numerous intergrown quartz crystals radiate outward, creating a layered arrangement of translucent crystal faces and sparkling terminations. Subtle variations in color range from nearly colorless champagne tones to soft lilac, with excellent light transmission through portions of the specimen.
The reverse reveals a fascinating combination of creamy-white crystalline aggregates, dark green to nearly black mineralization, and scattered rusty-orange deposits. These associations resemble the calcite, celadonite, and iron-rich material documented on amethyst flowers from southern Brazil. The Iraí area of Rio Grande do Sul is especially celebrated for its distinctive radiating amethyst formations, which developed within cavities associated with ancient volcanic rocks.
