A classic aquamarine and muscovite association from the celebrated Pingwu Beryl Mine at Mt. Xuebaoding, Sichuan Province, China. A prominent transparent pale blue-green aquamarine crystal rises dramatically from a dense matrix of silvery-gray to golden muscovite rosettes, accompanied by additional smaller beryl crystals.
The principal aquamarine displays distinctive tabular crystal habit. Broad glassy faces reveal excellent transparency and subtle internal features, while the surrounding micaceous matrix provides strong texture and contrast.
Xuebaoding is regarded as a modern classic mineral locality and is particularly noted for tabular aquamarine crystals associated with muscovite, albite, scheelite, and cassiterite.
