A cabinet specimen from the celebrated Pingwu Beryl Mine at Mt. Xuebaoding, densely covered with pale blue-green aquamarine crystals nestled among golden muscovite blades and pale matrix.
Rather than featuring a single dominant crystal, this specimen presents an abundant field of aquamarine across the display face. Numerous transparent to translucent crystals exhibit sharp terminations, glassy luster and the distinctive tabular crystal habit characteristic of Xuebaoding beryl. Golden muscovite provides excellent contrast between the cool, glassy aquamarine crystals.
Xuebaoding is regarded as a modern classic mineral locality and is particularly noted for tabular aquamarine crystals associated with muscovite, albite, scheelite, and cassiterite.
