An attractive calc-silicate specimen dominated by white to translucent, bladed Wollastonite with a silky to pearly luster. Scattered throughout are numerous cinnamon to reddish-brown Garnets and small contrasting green Diopside crystals, producing a colorful three-mineral assemblage across nearly the entire specimen.
Willsboro is a classic New York Wollastonite locality, where Wollastonite occurs with Garnet and Diopside in metamorphosed and metasomatically altered carbonate rocks. The Willsboro deposits are particularly known for this distinctive assemblage of white Wollastonite, reddish-brown Garnet, and green Diopside.
