A bright white to creamy-white specimen of Ulexite displaying the mineral’s characteristic silky, fibrous texture and pearly to satin luster. Dense bundles of fine fibers form sweeping and radiating aggregates throughout the specimen, with small areas of contrasting brown matrix.
Ulexite is a hydrated sodium-calcium borate mineral best known for its unusual fiber-optic properties, which have earned transparent fibrous material the nickname “TV rock.” It typically forms in evaporite deposits associated with other borate minerals.
