Woodhouseite
Champion Mine, White Mountain Peak, White Mountains, Mono County, California, USA- Type locality
Dimensions: 6.7 x 3.3 x 3.0 cm

Comes with original old tag.

Pale white to translucent crystalline growth covers the specimen, opening into a sparkling central pocket of glassier crystals and contrasting dark mineralization.

This is a particularly worthwhile locality piece because the Champion Mine is the type locality for woodhouseite, where the species was first described by Dwight M. Lemmon in 1937. Woodhouseite is an uncommon calcium-aluminum phosphate-sulfate and Champion Mine material remains especially desirable to systematic and type-locality collectors.
