Colorless to creamy-white Colemanite forms translucent crystalline aggregates with bright vitreous to pearly luster. Numerous intergrown crystals and sparkling microcrystalline surfaces create a highly textured specimen with attractive areas of transparency.
Colemanite is a hydrated calcium borate mineral that forms in borate-rich evaporite deposits and is an important natural source of boron.
