A handsome Alpine smoky quartz specimen from Göschenenalp, Canton Uri, Switzerland, featuring a prominent elongated crystal set among a compact cluster of smaller smoky quartz points. The principal crystal has a broad, sharply defined termination and long prism faces marked by pronounced horizontal growth striations. Its color shifts from warm translucent champagne-brown through deeper smoky gray-brown, with the thinner areas allowing light to pass through beautifully.
Surrounding crystals create a naturally architectural composition, rising at several angles from a matrix coated with smaller quartz crystals. The contrast between the large, lustrous central point and the more granular crystallization of the reverse gives the piece visual interest from multiple sides.
Comes with old stock tag. This example retains its original handwritten/typed collection label and matching catalog number 602, with an older paper number affixed directly to the specimen.
