Bright yellow-green to vivid grass-green Pyromorphite richly coats the matrix, with numerous cavities containing sparkling microcrystalline aggregates and tiny prismatic crystals. Contrasting areas of translucent colorless crystalline material and brown iron-stained matrix accentuate the intense green mineralization.
Pyromorphite is a lead chlorophosphate mineral that forms in the oxidized zones of lead deposits. The historic Tsumeb Mine is one of the world’s most celebrated mineral localities and produced an extraordinary diversity of secondary lead and copper minerals, including Pyromorphite.
