Fluorite, Barite
Locality: Nakaye #4 Mine, Derry District, Sierra Co, New Mexico, USA
Dimensions: 6 x 4.5 x 2.4 cm
A nearly complete floater of a half cube rising from a matrix of quartz and barite. When illuminated, the deep violet turns into a "tie-dye" color of violet, seafoam green, and blue. It is reminiscent of the "Tie Dye Pocket". This nearly complete floater is covered in sparkly barite blades on the back, with the detachment point in the upper edge of the cube.
