Fluorite- Fluorite- Toxic Apple Pocket, Poison Ivy, Lady Annabella Mine, Eastgate, Weardale, Co Durham, UK, sku3873
A pocket that is truely hard to find! The toxic green of this specimen is exceptionally vibrant and special. This cluster features large cubes. The Toxic Apple Pocket, a minute cavity subset nestled within the larger Poison Ivy Pocket of The Bull Vein complex, yielded only a limited collection of specimens. In contrast to Poison Ivy, the Fluorite found in this pocket boasts a distinctively acidic green shade, evoking the tartness of sour gooseberries or the crispness of baking apples. These Fluorite formations take the form of individual, interwoven cubic crystals, reaching approximately 3 cm in size. They exhibit transparent gem-like corners and edges that seamlessly transition into faces adorned with cotton wool-like cloudy inclusions, reminiscent of light peppermint-green Fluorite. In natural daylight, these Fluorites remain non-fluorescent, yet their colors undergo a transformation, intensifying into richer greens. When subjected to long-wave ultraviolet light (LWUV), they exhibit a strong fluorescent glow, ranging from lavender-white to mid-lilac..
