This Fluorite has remarkably vivid emerald green color with excellent translucency, allowing light to penetrate deeply into the crystal and illuminate its saturated interior. Broad geometric crystal surfaces reveal internal zoning, cleavage features, and subtle variations in color from pale mint green along the margins to much richer green through the thicker portions.
Scattered across the Fluorite are numerous dark, metallic Pyrite aggregates, with heavier concentrations along several crystal edges and surfaces.
Atacocha has become an important Peruvian locality for intensely colored green Fluorite, and this specimen is an eye-catching example combining strong color, translucency, substantial Fluorite crystallization, and contrasting Pyrite association.
