Fluorite
Cave-in-Rock, Hardin County, Illinois, USA
Dimensions: 6.2 x 6.0 x 5.6 cm
A purple Fluorite crystal cluster from the historic Cave-in-Rock Mining Sub-District, Hardin County, Illinois, USA. Southern Illinois is one of the world's classic fluorite-producing regions, celebrated by collectors for its exceptionally colorful cubic crystals and dramatic internal zoning.
This specimen features a cluster of translucent pale lavender cubic crystals with distinctly darker violet-purple zoning concentrated along many of the crystal edges. The color becomes especially apparent in the larger cubes, where successive stages of growth appear as subtle geometric bands and internal phantom-like zones.
There are multiple contact points along the cubic edges, which impact the price. See photos/video. The price reflects this.
