Paprok, Kamdesh District, Nuristan, Afghanistan
Dimensions: 4.1 x 3.6 x 2.6 cm
A substantial purple Fluorite specimen from Paprok, Afghanistan, displaying a soft lavender to smoky violet coloration with excellent translucency. Broad crystal surfaces dominate the specimen, while stepped growth and smaller intergrown faces along the edges create attractive geometric detail.
Paprok is a famous gem-bearing pegmatite field in Afghanistan's Nuristan Province, best known for exceptional tourmaline and other pegmatite minerals. Fluorite is a documented but comparatively uncommon mineral from the locality, making Paprok fluorite particularly interesting to locality and pegmatite collectors.
