Fluorite
Paprok, Kamdesh District, Nuristan, Afghanistan
Dimensions: 4.6 x 3.2 x 2.1 cm
A beautifully delicate Fluorite specimen from Paprok, Kamdesh District, Nuristan Province, Afghanistan, displaying exceptionally pale lavender coloration and intricate stepped cubic growth. Rather than forming as a single simple cube, the Fluorite has developed as an interconnected arrangement of blocky crystals with numerous smaller cubic terraces cascading across the surfaces.
Paprok is a famous gem-bearing pegmatite field in Afghanistan's Nuristan Province, best known for exceptional tourmaline and other pegmatite minerals. Fluorite is a documented but comparatively uncommon mineral from the locality, making Paprok fluorite particularly interesting to locality and pegmatite collectors.
