A purple fluorite specimen from Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, China, featuring a dense cluster of large intergrown stepped-octahedral crystals. The fluorite ranges from deep plum and violet-purple through translucent lavender and nearly colorless zones, creating pronounced internal color zoning that becomes especially vivid when backlit.
Broad triangular octahedral faces, layered growth features and complex interpenetrating crystals give the specimen a highly architectural appearance. Yiwu is known among collectors for distinctive octahedral fluorite specimens and for producing multiple generations and colors of fluorite.
