Pale salmon-pink Microcline forms a substantial blocky crystal section with broad, well-developed cleavage surfaces and a pearly to vitreous luster. The specimen is locally translucent along thinner edges and displays subtle variations from peach-pink to nearly colorless across its crystalline surfaces.
Microcline is a potassium feldspar commonly found in granitic pegmatites, where it can develop exceptionally large crystals. Pink Microcline is particularly characteristic of many of Ontario’s historic feldspar-bearing pegmatites.
