Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, Canada
Dimensions: 3.8 × 3.8 × 2.3 cm
Provenance: Older collection specimen; original catalog label No. 306 included.

Pale blue-gray to nearly colorless Anhydrite forms a translucent massive specimen with broad cleavage surfaces and a soft pearly to vitreous luster. The subtle icy blue coloration and reflective internal cleavage give the specimen an attractive silvery appearance in direct light.

Anhydrite is an anhydrous calcium sulfate mineral closely related to Gypsum. It commonly occurs in evaporite deposits and can transform into Gypsum through hydration when exposed to water over time.
