A small but attractive native Gold specimen featuring numerous bright metallic yellow-gold flakes and crystalline patches exposed across a white to translucent Quartz matrix. Gold is visible in several areas of the specimen, including tiny platy and irregular crystalline forms that stand out strongly against the pale Quartz. Small cavities, iron staining, and additional dark metallic inclusions add texture and interest under magnification.
La Choya is a documented native Gold and Quartz locality in northern Sonora. Gold mineralization at the deposit occurs in quartz-bearing veins, making specimens showing visible native Gold against Quartz particularly representative of the locality.
