A small native Gold specimen featuring several bright yellow-gold crystalline patches exposed against a white to translucent Quartz matrix. The most prominent Gold occurs along a reddish iron-stained zone, with additional smaller metallic grains visible across the specimen. Natural cavities and irregular Quartz surfaces give the piece considerable texture and provide strong contrast for the metallic Gold.
La Choya is a documented native Gold and Quartz locality in northern Sonora. Gold mineralization at the deposit occurs in quartz-bearing veins, making specimens showing visible native Gold against Quartz particularly representative of the locality.
