A beautifully carved Labradorite horse featuring smoky gray coloration with natural variations of silver, charcoal, and soft gray throughout the stone. As the carving is moved in the light, areas of feldspar may reveal the distinctive flashes of color known as labradorescence, with the intensity and placement of the flash varying naturally from piece to piece.
The horse is intricately carved with a flowing mane and tail, saddle and tack details, and a dimensional standing form. Natural dark mineral inclusions, internal textures, and variations in translucency give each carving its own unique appearance.
Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar best known for its remarkable optical effect, which can produce flashes of blue, green, gold, yellow, and other colors as light interacts with microscopic structures within the stone.
