A classic Spanish aragonite specimen from Minglanilla in Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha. Intergrown crystals display soft smoky-lavender with translucent edges, attractive luster, and strongly developed growth features.
The blocky crystals exhibit the locality's characteristic cyclic twinning, creating a pseudo-hexagonal crystal habit despite aragonite's orthorhombic crystal structure. Minglanilla is particularly noted for these unusual purple-gray twinned aragonites, with historic specimens from the locality documented since at least the 1960s.
