Rubellite is the vibrant pink to deep raspberry-red variety of elbaite tourmaline, prized for its rich color and naturally occurring crystal formations. Its color comes primarily from manganese within the crystal structure and can range from delicate rosy pink to intense red, magenta, and purplish-red. Rubellite commonly forms in lithium-rich pegmatites alongside minerals such as quartz, feldspar, lepidolite, and albite, making specimens with contrasting matrix especially attractive to collectors.
