Specimen of sand-included selenite (gypsum) from Western Oklahoma. This sculptural cluster features several large, flattened selenite crystals intersecting at dramatic angles, with abundant natural sand incorporated throughout the crystals during their growth. The heavy sand inclusions give the specimen its distinctive warm brown coloration and granular texture while preserving the recognizable bladed crystal forms beneath. Oklahoma is particularly well known for sand-bearing selenite formed within saline sediments, making this a wonderful example of one of the state's most distinctive mineral occurrences. Accompanied by its original vintage collection label identifying the specimen as “Selenite Crystal – Western Oklahoma.”
