A gemmy, highly transparent Topaz crystal displaying the distinctive natural etching associated with material from the Agnus Dei Claim. The nearly colorless to very pale champagne crystal features brilliant vitreous luster and an intricate sculptural surface of stepped, striated, and irregularly etched faces. Internal veils and fractures reflect light throughout the crystal, with a small amount of natural iron-toned material visible near the base.
The Agnus Dei Claim is a notable Colorado Topaz locality, particularly known for the 2012–2013 Tribute Pocket discovery. Crystals from the pocket are characteristically gemmy and frequently exhibit strongly etched prism faces contrasted by glassier crystal surfaces and complex terminations.
