A pair of older Mexican Tantalite specimens consisting of small, dense brownish-black to nearly black crystals with blocky to somewhat rounded forms. Both show portions of striated crystalline surfaces and a subdued submetallic to resinous luster, with the larger specimen retaining patches of pale tan pegmatitic matrix. An unusual old locality pair accompanied by its original collection label, which specifically notes the material as “rare.”
