A substantial old Madagascar Euxenite-(Y) specimen displaying an exceptionally dark, nearly black interior with a brilliant resinous to submetallic luster. Freshly exposed surfaces show intricate fracture and growth textures, while portions of the exterior retain a contrasting rusty brown alteration rind. The specimen's dense appearance, strong luster, and black interior are characteristic of Euxenite-(Y) from Madagascar's rare-element pegmatites.
Sahamandrevo is a documented rare-element pegmatite with Euxenite-(Y), along with Samarskite-(Y), Beryl and Bismuthinite. Euxenite-(Y) from there has been documented since at least 1916.
