A beautiful natural pink Elbaite Tourmaline crystal from the Água Branca pegmatite in Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This slender crystal displays lovely natural color zoning, transitioning through saturated rose pink into a noticeably paler, nearly colorless zone toward the upper portion before finishing with a thin band of deeper raspberry-pink color. Excellent translucency allows the zoning and internal growth features to remain clearly visible, especially when the specimen is backlit.
Longitudinal striations run along the prismatic faces, while internal veils and growth features create flashes of reflected light throughout the crystal. Its unusually elongated form and distinct zoning give this specimen an elegant appearance and make it an especially attractive example of Brazilian elbaite.
The Água Branca pegmatite is part of the famous gem-bearing pegmatite region of Minas Gerais and is particularly noted among collectors for producing colorful elbaite tourmalines. Pink elbaite from this locality is an excellent representation of the richly colored tourmalines for which Brazil is renowned.
