A beautiful natural pink Elbaite Tourmaline crystal from the Água Branca pegmatite in Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
This specimen features a beautiful soft strawberry to rose-pink color with subtle variations in saturation throughout the crystal. Its compact, broad prismatic habit gives it a wonderfully substantial appearance, while translucent areas allow light to penetrate the crystal and reveal its internal structure.
The prism faces display pronounced vertical striations and layered growth features, with a combination of glassier areas and naturally frosted surfaces. Inside, delicate veils and fractures catch the light and create flashes of brightness against the pink body color. The crystal has a naturally contacted, somewhat irregular upper surface, preserving the raw character of the specimen rather than a complete termination.
The Água Branca pegmatite is part of the famous gem-bearing pegmatite region of Minas Gerais and is particularly noted among collectors for producing colorful elbaite tourmalines. Pink elbaite from this locality is an excellent representation of the richly colored tourmalines for which Brazil is renowned.
