A beautiful natural pink Elbaite Tourmaline crystal from the Água Branca pegmatite in Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
This specimen displays a lovely strawberry to rose-pink color, becoming noticeably richer and more saturated toward the upper portion of the crystal. Areas of good translucency reveal the internal structure, while natural veils and growth features scatter the light and give the crystal a bright, layered appearance. The prismatic faces preserve fine longitudinal striations characteristic of elbaite, along with stepped growth features near the upper edge.
The Água Branca pegmatite is part of the famous gem-bearing pegmatite region of Minas Gerais and is particularly noted among collectors for producing colorful elbaite tourmalines. Pink elbaite from this locality is an excellent representation of the richly colored tourmalines for which Brazil is renowned.
