Size: 3.4 x 3.2 x 1.9 cm
Bold and architectural, this Vanadinite specimen features robust, blocky hexagonal crystals rising in layered formation across natural matrix.
Vanadinite is a lead vanadate chloride mineral with the chemical formula Pb₅(VO₄)₃Cl, crystallizing in the hexagonal crystal system. This piece displays thick, well-formed barrel-shaped crystals with flat terminations and strong geometric definition — a classic growth habit prized by collectors.
The warm amber to deep reddish-brown coloration is produced by vanadium within the crystal structure. Under good lighting, the crystals exhibit a resinous luster that enhances their depth and structural clarity. The stacked, dimensional growth creates a powerful sculptural presence from every viewing angle.
Vanadinite forms as a secondary mineral in the oxidized zones of lead deposits, developing through the alteration of primary lead minerals in vanadium-rich environments. Well-formed, saturated crystals such as these are highly sought after for both aesthetic and mineralogical significance.
